Brian Scott grew up in a town with a fitting name for a budding magician: Mystic, Connecticut. It was here that he got interested in magic at the young age of seven and, in his words, “never grew up.”
For close to a decade Brian Scott performed all throughout the northeast, until he made the move to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2002, where he now performs regularly for family audiences.
Over the years, Brian has also used his magic off stage, promoting movies, consulting on theatrical productions, and opening the Bay Area School of Magic. He has also worked on projects that have been seen on multiple national television programs and in the New York Times. Brian Scott has written for trade journals for the magic community, and has had his ideas manufactured and marketed to other magicians for use in their own shows.
While magic is Brian Scott’s full time profession, off stage Brian Scott volunteers his time by sitting on the Board of Trustees for an independent school in the East Bay called The Berkeley School, where he is the current Board chair. Here he uses his many years of production skills and small business knowledge, alongside a wonderful team of Trustees, to ensure the fiscal success of this amazing school and help create a strategic plan for the future.
Whether onstage or off, Brian Scott’s goal is to bring mystery into the lives of those around him with his Bizarre and Strange blend of magic and comedy, leaving everyone scratching their head in wonder as they are doubled over in fits of laughter.
“You are my favorite magician in the Bay Area. You are reliable, professional, and always a crowd pleaser.”
Cheryl Lee - Palo Alto City Library
“Thank you so much for a super duper show! Your show is a fabulous combination of magic, audience participation and rollicking fun just perfect for our elementary school-age audience.”
Laurie Peck - City of Mountain View Public Library
“We would DEFINITELY hire you again! Everyone (kids, teachers, and parents) thoroughly loved the show! You were a burst of humor and energy. You truly engaged your audience!”
Rebeca Garcia – K.R. Smith Elementary School
“Brian Scott’s performances are a sure-fire hit at our library, with humor, suspense, and dazzling magic that keep the crowd glued to the edge of their seats. Best of all, Brian is extremely flexible and can adapt his show to almost any environment (which saved our last performance!).”
Michelle Loomis - San Carlos Library
“Brian is a perfect fit for Fairyland. He engages the kids immediately, and makes them part of the performance. Adults love his magic too, as well as the enthusiasm he shares for books and reading. All that—plus he’s a joy to work with!”
CJ Hirschfield, Executive Director - Children’s Fairyland
“Thank you so much! Parents told me they hadn’t intended to stay & watch but then did for their own entertainment. Lucy said you were HUH-LARIOUS! “
Sheila Wang - Parent
“Thanks for working with us on Zoom. We were extremely pleased how well the virtual show went, your showmanship was amazing (as usual), you kept the audience engaged, and compared to our other previous online shows yours was the highest attended and I think everyone stayed for the entire show!”
Kimberly Diebolt
Library Assistant
South Lake Tahoe Library
“The crew and their families loved your show. The commanding officer also attended and sang your praises at our last all-hands. Really hit home with the kids.”
Trevor Hughes
United states Coast Guard
“Brian, it was truly a wonderful show and a pleasure having you! Thank you so so much for a fun time! Our students and staff enjoyed it very much.”
Namita Chand
Harlem Village Academies
“That was perfect. Great energy, perfect balance of magic surprises, but also a sneak peak into how to do it! Thank you very much for making it special; means a lot. I will share your name for sure!”
Mie Yaginuma - Parent
"Brian - you were beyond our expectations. You managed the crowd incredibly well, kept them glued and engaged from one trick to the next. You continued to wow and the fun never ended. My kids attended two out of three shows yesterday and I thought you beautifully changed up the tricks based on age ranges. So engaging and entertaining and so educational. It’s a difficult balance to achieve and you nail it every time!”
