The best California school assemblies need to do two things:
If that sounds hard…it’s because it is.
Many school assemblies in California fail to strike the perfect balance. School assembly program options often are all fun and laughs with little to no education. Or they’re highly educational but are dry, dull affairs that cause kids to get restless and ignore what’s happening.
With either option, you’ve wasted valuable funds and precious classroom time.
You need an experienced assembly presenter who knows how to weave educationally significant messages throughout the fun.
That’s where I come in.
I’m San Francisco Bay Area school assembly presenter Brian Scott. For 20+ years, I’ve performed hundreds of fun-filled school assemblies, library programs, and other educational family events in California.
My assembly programs for schools are fun, full of interaction, and highly educational. Best of all, everything I do during the programs ties into an educational lesson, motivational message, or something connected to what your students are learning in the classroom.
But I know you’re probably skeptical over whether I can truly ‘bring it.’ I get it. Check out what a school client had to say after bringing in one of my amazing assemblies:
“He is so engaging, the students are laughing and learning and getting excited about reading through his programs. We hope to have him back many many times.”
Julie Lin - Sedgwick Elementary School Cupertino School District
And I’m not just a ‘one trick pony’ either. I have multiple shows to address different concerns or topics schools want addressed. Here are thumbnail descriptions of each:
Biblio Spectacular – This reading-themed school assembly is perfect for Read Across America or any reading campaign in your school! In this 45-minute magical program, I encourage kids to think and ask questions. And I will explain why the library and books are the best ways to get answers to those questions.
Baffling Science – This STEM/STEAM school assembly program highlights scientific principles to explain the amazing magic I perform during the show. Kids will witness and participate in amazing magic routines and then help me reveal the scientific principles that make each routine possible. I’ll also show magic tricks and science experiments side by side…and reveal how they’re different.
Borrowed Solutions – This second STEM program reveals how magic is made…and how magic borrows its secrets from science and other disciplines. Kids are let in on actual magic secrets and discover how much science plays a role in creating things that look impossible!
Big SMILE Show – In this fun and engaging Character Education assembly program, I reveal how the simple S.M.I.L.E. acronym gives your students a fun and easy-to-remember blueprint for living their daily lives. Your students will participate in each message and help make the magic happen in amazing and fun ways!
Big Secrets – Because I’m invited back to schools over and over, I’ve also created a second Character Education assembly program! In this interactive educational adventure, your students will discover how magic is made in their daily lives. Using special ‘magic words’ such as being creative, giving, prepared, respectful, humble, authentic, confident, and enthusiastic can transform any situation into one that feels like magic.
Be Supportive - This is a fun yet educational anti-bullying program. This uses the power of real magic words to help students make bullying disappear... by being supportive to all those around them. With 8 magic words the students will learn how practicing these 8 words can make magic happen each and everyday.
Here’s the deal. The most amazing lessons and messages aren’t worth much if the students aren’t paying attention. To engage your students and keep them riveted from the second the assembly starts, I use several presentational ‘hooks’ to draw them in. Here are just a few:
“Thank you! The show was wonderful and working with you was great! You explained and provided details on everything and walked us through the entire process. We hope you will consider working with us again next year!”
Esther Gonzalez - East Bay Judo Institute
Want to talk about your assembly needs? Let’s connect! You can reach me in three ways:
But even after all of that, I still may not be able to perform at your school.
I’m insanely busy. My family hardly recognizes me because I perform so much. (Okay, not true, but I am super-duper busy!) Because I perform hundreds of shows each year for schools, libraries, and private events in the Bay Area, my dates go fast.
Contact me right away, while you’re thinking about it. That way, you don’t miss out on an amazing experience for your students. And my family will be glad to get rid of me for another day (LOL)!
I look forwards to visiting your school soon.
