Fill Your Library with Children & Adults Eager to Devour Your Books (okay, ‘devour’ might be too strong…)

Fun & Exciting Library Magic Shows that Promote Reading, Encourage New Library Card Signups, & Much More

If you’re looking for fun ways to promote your library’s Summer Reading Program (or any special event) you’ve come to the right place.

Libraries are awesome places. Books can educate us, transport us to faraway lands, and even help us be the best versions of ourselves. The only ‘trick’ is getting people into the library.

Many entertainers offer fun and engaging programs that get kids excited. But the best magicians in California get kids excited…about reading.

That’s what I do.

Hire This 20+ Year Professional Magician & Watch Your Circulation Grow

I’m San Francisco Bay Area library performer Brian Scott. For the last 20 years, I’ve performed in hundreds of libraries across California. My programs are filled with amazing magic, laughter, join-in fun, and messages designed to promote libraries and reading.

My incredible library program Biblio Spectacular ‘nudges’ kids to think and wonder. Why is the sky blue? Why do dogs pant? Why do siblings love picking on each other? (Okay, I made that last one up!) I encourage kids to wonder how and why things are the way they are. And they want to find out the answers. Those answers are (you guessed it) ready for them in the library.

In short, this engaging reading-themed magic show promotes critical thinking. Throughout the show, I encourage kids to ask questions and then find the answers in the stacks of your library! My show promotes the library in fun and exciting ways. You’ll see kids head for the books after my show. And you’ll have more kids (and adults!) sign up for new library cards after I finish my show.

But I don’t expect you to take my word for it.

20 Years of Thrilled Clients Show I Get Results

After performing hundreds of library shows for clients just like you, I have the track record that proves I can back up my claims. Here’s what one recent library client had to say:

“We had Brian Scott outside in the library amphitheater yesterday for a magic show. He was amazing! Brian talked about the magic of libraries and how books inspired him to become a magician. He was so engaging that a TON of kids ran into the library afterward and almost tackled the staff on the desk asking for books about magic. I would definitely recommend him!”

But that’s not the only one. My site is filled with thrilled clients who wanted to tell me how happy they were with the service I provided. Comb through my site and you’ll see plenty of proof that I deliver the goods.

How I Hold the Attention of Any Audience

Here’s something most CA family magicians and entertainers won’t admit:

Holding the attention of a wide age range at a library is hard.

Birthday party shows and school assemblies usually have specific age groups. A child turning six usually has a party for other six-year-olds. A school assembly usually targets specific grade levels. But a library? Grandparents might bring their four-year-old grandchild. A single parent might bring a surly teen, a precious eight-year-old, and a toddler to a library event.

And as the performer, I need to make sure I engage everyone.

I can best compare my library programs to Pixar movies. There are plenty of goofy, silly antics for the young kids present. And the magic I perform is amazing and engaging, perfect for older kids and adults.

My point? Your patrons won’t walk up to you after my show and say, “That was a good show…for the kids.” Nope. They’ll say, “Wow! I wasn’t expecting this to be so incredible!”

4 Reasons Why I’m the Easiest Family Entertainer You’ll Ever Bring to Your Library

Even after all of that, you might be thinking, “I’ll bet this guy is a flake. Or a prima donna looking for his own dressing room.”

No way. I know how busy media specialists are. You’ve got enough to worry about without hand-holding some ditzy performer who only does a few shows as a hobby.

This is my full-time job. I’ve been a professional performer for over 20 years. And I know the secret to a long career is simply being easy to work with. Here are just a few ways I make your life easier:

  • Customizable: Biblio Spectacular has been carefully designed to be easily customizable. I can adjust the content of the program to fit each year’s Summer Reading Program theme. My show will fit your SRP theme like a glove.

  • Invoicing: Once we agree on a date, I will send you the paperwork promptly. Show business means business, so I go to great lengths to demonstrate that I am reliable and dependable.

  • Minimal Requirements: I bring my own sound system and wireless microphone. And if we are outside, or if your room has limited electrical, my entire system is battery operated. You won’t have to provide me with anything.

  • Adaptable to Your Space: Many performers bring major productions to their shows. Backdrops. Huge props. That stuff is great for large venues, like schools. But many libraries have more intimate performance spaces. I will adapt my show to your needs.

My clients know that when they see my name on the schedule, they can relax. I’ll be on time and ready to perform. Simply point me to where the show is being held. I’ll handle the rest!
