Can science help the environment? Who can become scientists? How can our actions affect something thousands of miles away? These are fascinating and important questions for students of all ages. My ecology and STEM school assembly answers these questions in fun and interactive ways!

I’m Bay Area Ecology & Science School Assembly Presenter Brian Scott. Each year, I perform amazing and educational school assemblies for schools throughout the Bay Area. My newest program, “Becoming Scientists,” will inspire a love of science and protecting the environment.

I know, it’s a tall order! But I get results like this all the time:

In “Becoming Scientists,” I guide your students to discover not just what a scientist does but also who is a scientist. Guess what? We ALL are! I use magical games, visual interactive magic, and a story of an adventure to Antarctica to inspire your students.

In the end, your students will look at the world around them a little differently. And they’ll think about how our actions can affect an environment thousands of miles away. Also, recycling and waste reduction are key components of this show.

But this is not a boring lecture! Here’s some of the fun your students will experience:

Plastic bags are used to illustrate messages with magic. Plastic bags disappear, change into fabric, and take on new lives in new forms.
Your students will be amazed when some of this new “fabric” takes on a life of its own! They’ll see this fabric jump, float, and dance on its own!
Water magic illustrates how water pollution moves from one body of water to another. Many of these plastics found in the stream in your backyard make their way into the oceans and all the way to Antarctica.

Worried this show will “blah, blah, bore” your students to sleep? Don’t worry! I use several presentational ‘hooks’ to keep your kiddos riveted from the beginning of the show to the end. Check them out:

Magic: Yup, magic. You’ve already read how amazing magic is, visual, and fun. Most importantly, each magic routine highlights a specific message or lesson.
Age-Appropriate Humor: My shows are hilariously funny! Even the adults crack up. But everything I do and say is completely age-appropriate and suited for your students.
Colorful Set Design: Many magicians just bring a small case of magic to make things easier on themselves. Me? I want kids to “Ooooh” and “Ahhhh” as soon as they walk into the assembly area. My colorful backdrops and banners will grab your students’ attention fast!
Join-In Fun: The best way to engage kids is to, well, engage them! That means involvement. I get kids onstage to help make the magic happen throughout the show.
PA System & Microphone: No need to get your technical people involved. I bring my own PA system and mic to make sure your students can easily hear every word I say.

Why I’m the Easiest Ecology & Stem Assembly Presenter Ever

Schools are busy places. Your assembly performing area is probably a ‘hotbed’ of activity. Every hour of every day something is happening. You may have lunches, gym classes, band practice, and more in the same area every day.

That’s why I’ve designed my shows to set up fast. “Becoming Scientists” sets up in under 30 minutes. That’s fast for a Bay Area school assembly (the average in the area is about an hour)! And my programs break down even faster, in just 20 minutes.

This fast set up/breakdown time means you get control of your room back as fast as possible. The students still get an amazing, visually spectacular show. Everyone wins!
